Comelec’s ‘No Bio-No Boto’ leaves over 17,000 voters in Nueva Vizcaya

Bayombong, N.V. – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) here has left 17,163 voters in its exhaustive conduct of biometrics registration out of the 251,806 total voters in the province in preparation for next year’s national and local polls.

Hilda Padilla, assistant Comelec chief here, said the remaining 17,163 voters who failed to make it to the deadline represent late registrants, unlocated and or transferred voters, voters who had left abroad and the deceased.

“We have campaigned so much for this but we can no longer extend it because it will affect our overall schedule in preparation for the 2016 elections,” she said.

Padilla also said however that an appeal for the extension of the biometrics registration in the country is yet to be decided by the Supreme Court./PNA|JMC|SCD|BMEBREO
